White hasn't spoken to Silva or GSP about future super fight

by Damon Martin | source: mmaweekly.com

“I haven’t even talked to Georges St-Pierre or Anderson Silva about those guys fighting each other. If things all work out that way we’ll see what happens, but there’s no guarantee that fight’s going to happen,” said White.

After a lot of talk and hype about this fight taking place in 2013, it appears everything has cooled down a bit with Silva and St-Pierre both facing challenges in the coming months, and neither fight apparently agreeing to the super fight in the first place.

Will Anderson Silva vs. Georges St-Pierre ever take place? That remains to be seen.

Not quite. Dana had said "He could go fight in sambo every fucking Thursday night if he wants to." So that was never an issue with Fedor's negotiations.

For fuck sakes I'm sick of this garbage. They dangle the fight in front of us then take away, rinse repeat. I wish it would either happen or go away.

Contracts can be renegotiated. As things stand, even GSP is getting pennies on the dollar for what he brings to the UFC.If the big four UFC champions got together (GSP, Anderson, JDS and JBJ) and went on strike until changes were made, they would be successful. With no big stars in the pipeline, this is the best time to act. They can do this now, or never.

They have contracts that state they cannot fight in most events outside the UFC. (BJJ comps may be an exception Im not sure.)This is one of the reasons they didn't get Fedor in the UFC, because he wished to continue to compete in Sambo (as well as the obvious m1 co-promotion fiasco) and that wouldn't have been allowed under the term.Had they made an exception it could have started a precedent, something the UFC would kill to have not happen.

George and Anderson would be insane to allow a super-fight between them be promoted in the UFC. Their management should talk and try to make it happen between themselves, otherwise they'd be losing insane amounts of revenue and future royalties.
