Manager: Anderson Silva wants GSP next

In a Monday interview with "Inside MMA" on AXS TV, Soares said he'd like to see a Silva vs. St-Pierre superfight as his client's next fight.

"At the end of the day, GSP is the greatest welterweight of all time," Soares said. "People argue back and forth who the greatest pound-for-pound fighter in the world is. Some people say it's Anderson, some people say it's Georges St-Pierre. So I think the way to settle it is to do a catch weight at 177 1/2, right down the middle, and see what happens.

"I think it'll be a fight that the fans want to see and it'll be a great fight."

There is a very simple reason why people want to see Silva vs Weidman more than Silva vs Bisping. Weidman is an up-and-comer, and no one knows if he is on Silva's level or not. There is some mystery to that fight. Bisping, on the other hand, has established his position in the division. He's somewhere near the bottom of the top 10, but has lost every top 10 fight he's had. There is no reason to think he would challenge Silva when he can't beat guys like Hendo, Wanderlei, or Sonnen. The only reason I would be excited for that fight is the same reason I was excited for the Silva - Bonnar fight, because you know Silva will end the fight in spectacular fashion.

Hell yes. The answer's right there: JDS vs. JBJ and Silva vs. GSP I'd pay big money to see those fights by the end of next year/early 2014

I dont think there has ever been a time, at least for a loooong while, that the champs of the biggest divs. have been so much more dominate than everyone else. JDSJBJSilvaGSP-pre surguryTHOSE 4 men are far and away the best. So maybe some superfights is where its at right now. My. $.02

if Anderson vacates his title, then give him the GSP fight.i'm tired of title holders (well, just him) fighting outside of their weight class while they hold a title...i'd like to see Anderson vs Bisping, tho.

Of course his nuthuggers don't want to see their idol lose. The reality is that Bisbing is not a ppv star. He's well known but the increase of buys over a Weidman bout would be marginal.

I'm a more "hardcore" fan than 99.99% of the populace and I've seen exactly two Weidman fights -- a complete pile of shit with Maia, and a fight with Munoz that I had to download because I don't even get that channel. My anticipation for Anderson/Weidman is almost nil. For GSP, peaked; for Jones, off the charts. Even for Bisping there would be anticipation.

GSP walks around @ 196lbs, only a few pounds lighter than Anderson. This fight isn't only a match everyone wants to see it's logical too.

Kampmann and Hendricks should be pissed. They fight right before gsp / condint in what was basically a #1 contender fight. I realize Andy has earned the right to have his legacy fights but I don't think they should hold up weight classes. Condint did enough of that.

Well when Weidman becomes a contender I think things will be different, he's got one big win over Munoz, I think he's up there, but contender? No. It could be a great fight tho.
