Tank talks works, Tito, warriors, and a potential return

source: mmaprime.tv

Aaron Tru cornered the legendary Tank Abbott, and got a lively and wide ranging interview. Subjects discussed include:

•Today's champions ("I hardly know who any of them are and that speaks volumes itself.")
•Tito Ortiz ("I think it's funny that even for 10 seconds anyone thought he was tough.")
•The backyard brawl with Scott Ferrozzo ("Well that's happened 100's of times...You better do good or you might being going home in a morgue wagon in a van.")
•A possible return to the cage ("I am probably the closest thing you have ever seen to a true warrior... If someone has the right fight for me, I'm whiling to do it.")
•Potential works at UFC 6 and the Ultimate Ultimate 8. "Both of them fought their training partners, who winked and had very easy fights.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that they fought their friends and that their friends laid down... not something that a true warrior would do.  Like I said before, these guys aren't true warriors... it's not about winning or losing, it's about the battle."

The only thing that was not discussed was the squirrel sitting on Tank's head. There are some places you just can't go.

say Tank went to prison and was put in the same cell as Marvin gray, who comes out alive??Gray would try to dominate Tank but i dont think that would happen..

well Tank was never a top 5 fighter in MMA but he was a very tough brawler...he had a pretty solid wrestling background and that coupled with natural punching power and brute strength(315 pound upright rows, 600 pound bench press!!) made him a very tough opponent for anyone..he DID disrespect alot of fighters back in the day but i think that was part of his gimmick tbh..i think deep down inside Tank respects all of these fighters that destroyed him.. Tank was right though in that 98% of ufc fighters are sport fighters...Tank was the real deal, he would always get into fights in bars, thats what he loved to do...i cant imagine running into a guy like Tank in a streetfight when he was in his 20s or 30s... Kimbo was most definitely capable of knocking Tank out..it was not fixed, Kimbo had good hands and technique and he beat an older Tank...shit happens, who knows how it would have went down if tank was younger though..

lol thats not a toupee.  Tank always shaved his head in the early ufc's even tho he had a full head of hair.  Tank probably prefers being bald but it just won't turn loose. :)

Do you mean "prima donna" or are you talking about Beofre the singer Madonna came on the scene or are you talking about Pre- Virgin Mary (Madonna)? Just asking.I would love to know who you are talking about. Especially the 5 or 6 Champions who are bi/gay.

Totally forgot he fought in Pride until you mentioned it. I remember him saying something along the lines of never losing to "karate" before Yoshida kicked him in the head and promptly choked him out.

Tank talks about what a great warrior he is, but he is the first to quit if things don't go his way in a fight. I consider guys like Frankie to be the true warriors, you think Tank would ever come back from getting rocked like that? No, he'd turtle up in a second. Also, he is to date still the biggest excuse maker there has been in the sport, and there's a ton of em.
