Filming The Ultimate Fighter: Jones vs. Sonnen has begun, and both coaches, along with UFC President Dana White, appeared Tuesday night on a UFC online chat, hosted by Metro PCS via Ustream on Tuesday night.
The two have engaged in an extended bitter twitter quarrel for months, with Jones calling Sonnen a racist, punk, thug. Sonnen's jabs have been nearly limitless. He called the champion an 'entitle brat' and took Jones' parents to task for bestowing an unimaginative name on their son. The list of what Sonnen has called Jones is so extensive, it might be simpler to list what he hasn't called him.
It got so bad Jones asked White to tell Sonnen to stop.
However, during the chat the pair struck a kinder, gentler tone.
"(Chael's) not too bad," said Jones. "I thought it was going to be all trash-talk, but he's actually being pretty decent and pretty classy. So, I think it's going to make for a great show.
"I actually don't hate Chael anymore. He's actually turning out to be OK. I'm not sure if he's setting me up to really hate him, but right now, he's being a pretty decent human."
Sonnen entered the chat a short while later, and while he play attacked his opposing coach, he offered similar remarks.
"You know what, I think he's a pretty good guy," said Sonnen. "He's a pretty nice guy."
The only indication that things are normal is that when Jones said "I'm not sure if he's setting me up to really hate him," White smiled and nodded his head.
