GSP: I want to make the best choice for myself

Anderson Silva"I love it. It was good. Georges is the best fighter. Georges has control from all positions -- the ground [standing] up. I like it. This is a new Georges, I like it. Yeah [I want to fight him next], but it is not my decision. This is Dana [White's] decision. He needs to talk to Georges' manager and talk to me because this is the biggest show in the world.

The fans in the UFC love it. Maybe this fight in the story of the UFC. This is my plan, but it is not my decision. I'm here to work for the UFC. I have my plans, Georges has his plans, but [we both] need to talk to Dana and Lorenzo [Fertitta]. That's it."

Georges St-Pierre"I know that Anderson Silva is here right now. But, I was just focusing on Carlos Condit 100 percent. I need to take some vacation and think about it, to see where I want to take my career. I want to make the best choice for myself, for the UFC and for the fans.

But, I want to make sure I make the right choice. I'm going to have a talk with my manager and and my entourage about it and we'll see what is going to happen."

Roger that. George's thoughts before the fight, and after on Silva is No, NO , No, and that is far and away the right, and best thought on that subject. Walk away George. You do not need it. Suck in your competitive instinct. You don't have the punch or any tool to win this. Pride will get you hurt here...butbad. Just say no, you earned it. Yes I don't think Jones wants a piece of Dos Santos, or Velasquez. I would actually like to see him in against Lesnar. See how he deals with that. I know Lesnar's a Tomato Can against even an average true heavyweight, but he can shoot, and wrestle, and has some ground and pound. I think he can take Jones at heavyweight. Silva doesn't want anyone that presents a challenge. His excuses are age, the other guy wont make money on a fight, he is friends with the other guy, he doesn't like to get hit anymore, he has a family he wants to be with, other projects like acting, he wants to enjoy life more. Yes Silva doesn't want Jones for sure, or Weidman. I think he dowsn't want to fight a lot of the light heavies. He wants what's easy, and Georges does not present a threat. One because I think Anderson is a coward who fights middleweight to get an advantage, light heavy being his true natural weight division. He is the best ever at this point mind you, but he is careful and handpicks opponents. I dare say he has fought mostly Tomato Cans in his career. Silva is two weight divisions from Georges's natural weight division. He could even go Heavyweight, and comes into fights at 195 I've heard. Too big. His striking is beyond anything in MMA, his submissions are lethal and usually an afterthought that come into play when he wants it to, or when things get a little too uncomfortable. He doesn't want to submit you, Anderson is a killer. He wants to finish you with strikes, and preferably the knees, or feet. For all his family man, gentle, nice guy, with honor demeanour, I think Anderson is as violent as a Young Mike Tyson. He needs to get in the Octagon with Weidman, or Jones to make MMA mainstream or have a hope of it ever making mainstream. Did you see Anderson wince when Georges had Condit going late in the 5th ? When Georges was throwing and landing strikes ?, then abruptly goes down and shoots ? That was his killer instinct saying no no no, finish got him going. No Georges, that right hand has landed flush on too many little guys, and dthey mostly walk right through it. It ain't gonna do jack shit against Anderson, and you cannot risk any kicks, which probably wouldn't do anything either because they wont have any chance of landing. The UFC is slime-balling it. They want to cash in now, and you are not a concern. Theres lots of opportunity at Welter now. This fight against Anderson could ruin you forever for fighting. Just walk.

GSP knows he can't win against Silva. No way. Anderson's a bigger, more lethal fighter who takes away GSP's greatest weapon, his control of range. No shame in it tho. We have weight classes for a reason.

I'll sum it up. GSP is the Super Journeyman fighter. He has few, if any holes in his game, he trains consistently, he has gifts but Anderson Silva is a phenom, a natural, and unpredictable. GSP is rather predictable. A parallel is Ali and Frazier. Ali was a phenom, Frazier a super journeyman.

Well, he could get a concussion from a severe KO, and never be the same fighter again. That's something to lose. Its the same reason there aren't many superfights. Why doesn't Bendo go after GSP? Or Aldo after Bendo? Or Jones after JDS, if the lighter guy has nothing to lose? Partly because it isn't softball, losing badly can leave you in bad shape physically.

And, he should take it at MW (not catch-weight). Those few pounds aren't going to make the difference. I think he's stronger than Anderson already, much stronger. Strength and power aren't what concerns him. Anderson doesn't win his fights by being stronger. Georges should take it, at MW, for the title.

No logic there... Georges has everything to gain and nothing to lose. He beats Anderson (which I put at 50:50), and he's the GOAT. He just beat the bigger fighter. Anderson loses to the smaller fighter, and his legacy is diminished hugely (the tards will argue that suddenly got old yesterday). If Georges loses? Well, he lost to the bigger fighter, not much has changed.Georges has all the reasons to take this fight.
