There is no one who has seen first hand as much world-class mixed martial arts competition worldwide as has Susumu Nagao. He is, truly, a legendary figure in mixed martial arts media.

Susumu was ringside for UFC 1, and has shot at over 100 UFC events since. He has shot every single PRIDE event, capturing ringside pictures of legendary fighters such as Kazushi Sakuraba, Fedor Emelianenko, Mirko Cro Cop Flipovic, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, and Wanderlei Silva.

In addition to the giant promotions, Susumu has also shot at countless smaller promotions worldwide in Japan, the USA, Brazil and Russia, including DREAM, Pancrase, Japan Vale Tudo, Shooto and many, many, many more.

On his Facebook page, he posted his best of 2012 images, a sampling of which appears below.

Susumu is definitely goat mma photographer however iirc he debuted at UFC 2 not UFC 1.Very nice guy, I shot cage side next to him a couple of times at UFC which was cool. He gave me good tips and is very humble.-jk

Susumu has always been a great photographer. I remember the days when you couldn't see the UFC because of the PPV ban. It was always great to see his pictures. ...and still is!
