Benson Henderson retains title with dominant decision over Diaz

In capturing the UFC lightweight championship and then defending the belt months later, Benson Henderson still could not convince all of the MMA world he was worthy of strapping the gold around his waist.

The doubters will be fewer after Saturday night, after Henderson punched, kicked and wrestled his way to a dominant decision win over Nate Diaz in the main event of UFC on FOX 5 from the Key Arena in Seattle.

The judges scored it in his favor 50-43, 50-45, 50-45.

Henderson authored nearly all of the fights best offensive moments.

The Diaz bros are my favorite fighters, but damn, Benson gets my respect - That dude can fight, he is a beast. @ the end of the 5 rounder, Benson just looked at Diaz like as if he were to say, "have you had enough? I can give you more if you want." That was pretty bad-ass.

I'm a fan of both guys. I've trained with Benson breifly. I expected him to be able to grind out Diaz but i did not think anyone at 155 would be able to do that. Benson is showing the ability to adapt quickly and effectively to different styles. Not sure who could threaten that belt right now.

That was a one-sided beatdown. I could have scored two or three of those rounds 10-8 easily...

Because nut-huggers get sore little vaginas buddy... True or false, this is the first decision either brother has ever lost? Luckily is a landslide otherwise we'd have to listen to you bitch about it forever.

You must not have ever seen a Diaz fight that went to a decision. They are always robberies. Pay attention much?

Nope. They would lose cardio which is their biggest advantage. What they need is footwork. Their high-volume accurate punches are a big trade-off. They sacrifice kicks and footwork for it. They plod, flat-footed. All the muscle in the world wouldn't have saved Nate, it would have made him slower and his leg would still be sitting there waiting to get smashed a million times. Benson was reaching down and punching him in the leg over and over... Ridiculous.
