JDS: 'Other guy' is made in the labratory

source: 5thround.com

When asked if he’d rather defend his crown against a respectful opponent like Cain Velasquez, who Santos meets December 29th in Las Vegas, or a smack-talking Overeem, dos Santos said he wants to face opponents who aren’t on the juice.

“I prefer to fight against clean athletes and real professionals,” dos Santos stated. “Cain Velasquez is one of these guys. He’s a real professional fighter and that’s a good challenge for me. I know he’s very tough and I know how hard I have to train to face him. And the OTHER GUYS, they just say things, but there’s nothing behind the words.

“Guys like me and Cain Velasquez, we are made at the gym. Guys like the OTHER GUY there, they are made in the laboratory.”

The Striking ability he showed in that fight valudates elitness, with the masterfull punch/knee combination he ended the fight with. Notice the skills that Overeem possess not the fighter he displayed them against. With that logic JDS is not an elite striker(which he is)just because he hasn't displayed it against other elite strikers. Both JDS,and Reem are elite strikers if you actually uderstand what your watching.

To be honest none of those strikes had any heat on them. If you compare that to how many times he fell to his ass,its ovbiously falling to ass alot more. Reem never really showed respect for Werdum's power. Hes been in there with way superior strikers, than what Werdum was bringing by far. Guys like Badr Hari would knock Werdum out in 1 min,I mean lets be honest here. And,Overeem beat those type of strikers in the K-1. You also got to consider Werdum style in that fight was to ultimately get the fight down. So Overeem was constently in sprawl mode, thats a big reason why Werdum was landing on him. Hes not gonna be defending takedowns against JDS,so he will have a higher guard to defend JDS attack/punches. JDS is a striker first attitude type of fighter, his pride will be to keep it standing. I can easily see Overeem timing a punch, and KOing JDS ala Ben Edwards overhand right in the K-1. JDS has never fought anybody as strong as Reem that can pull him in,and knee his head, and body. Overeem has alot more weapons standing with combination attacks,or a one shot kills. With punches,leg/body kicks, knees to head/body. JDS is a beast, but hes never fought a striker in his Prime like Overeem. Crocop was the best striker he fought, and hes on record saying Crocop was a tough fight for him. The majority of the fighters hes fought, have been grappler based fighters. That favor his takedownD,and superior Boxing attack. This will be the first time hes fighting a real solid striker, that doesn't want it on the ground. I'm not discounting JDS's abilities,I'm just saying stylistically Overeem doesn't favor his style. Just like Mark Hunt being an elite K-1 Boxing/Muay Thai fighter will be tough for JDS. Those type of strikers will be the first to match/challenge JDS's Boxing attack.

Strange that JDS didn't want to refer to Overeem by name. I'll be pissed if these two never throw down in the cage.

OH yeah, look at all these amazing Werdum flops when Overeem engaged!  It is amazing how Overeem fans have completely forgotten about how the "buttflopper" tagged him quite a bit and Overeem ran away.  All they cry is "WERDUM BUTTFLOPPED!"  Plus, Overeem was gassed to hell at the end of round 1.  If JDS lands any of these, Overeem is finished.

Overeem put fujita in a coma with a knee he is a threat a major one to JDS. All he needs is to get into the pocket with jds and his knees and kicks can finish jds. I respect JdS but man has to admit talent and stop worrying about who takes what or drinks urine. Just fight.
