White: Reports of Rousey's pay are incorrect

Yesterday, MMAInterviews.TV reported that they had learned that Ronda Rousey would make $75,000 to show, $75,000 to win, and a percentage of the PPV buys in her first UFC fight, a title defense against Liz Carmouche in February. They also reported that Carmouche was only to be paid $12,000 to show and $12,000 to win versus Rousey.

The news created a frenzy on the Underground, with members arguing the business behind paying Rousey, a UFC first-time so much money and a cut of the profit. MMAInterviews.TV later updated their article to include a note that Rousey's longtime manager Darin Harvey refuted those numbers.

Today, UFC President Dana White came on the Underground to also refute the initial report:

Well she is the champion, and a headliner, and at least she's accomplished something within her division in MMA.It's impossible to complain about somebody getting paid too much without mentioning James Toney, 500k for getting choked out.Yeah he hyped the fight a lot, and it was kind of a big deal, and a decent draw, but Rousey is also headlining a card.I do disagree with her as the headline, but if she is 75/75 kind of would make sense. The UFC has said these rumours are false so who knows.
