UFC 156 on Feb. 2 in Las Vegas is headlined by a featherweight title fight, pitting champion Jose Aldo vs. former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar
During a meeting Tuesday in Las Vegas, the Nevada State Athletic Commission tapped veteran referee Steve Mazzagatti to officiate the main event.
Additionally, the commission named Adelaide Byrd, Jeff Collins and Junichiro Kamijo to judge.
Mazzagatti, who was chosen for the assignment over veteran referees Herb Dean and Yves Lavigne, will earn $1,200 for his work while judges Byrd, Collins and Kamijo will earn $950 each.
Despite being frequently maligned by UFC President Dana White, Mazzagatti has refereed dozens of high-profile bouts in Nevada.
Byrd most recently served as a judge at this past month's UFC 155, where her 30-27 score for Melvin Guillard over Jamie Varner drew the ire of many MMA observers.
