White: I'd consider Evans vs. Silva

by Dann Stupp & John Morgan | source: mmajunkie.com

While the undefeated Weidman (9-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) is still in the running for a shot at UFC middleweight champion and pound-for-pound kingpin Anderson Silva (33-4 MMA, 16-0 UFC), White threw another possibility into the mix: UFC 156 co-headliner and light heavyweight Rashad Evans.

"I would consider Rashad," White said. "If Rashad won on Saturday night and wanted to go to 185, we would consider that."

"A lot of people think Chris Weidman is the No. 1 contender right now," White said. "If Rashad made a move from 205 down to 185, it'd be safe to say he's now No. 1."

Rashad lets his ego get the best of him. He knows he has KO power so he stands with everyone he fights. He needs to stick to his wrestling, good call.

I think Rashad could match up bad for Andy. He has everything needed for an upset. However, the Machida KO is haunting. He needs to avoid striking with a striker to win. If he can get the takedown, he could get a KO a la Forrest.

Welcome to the Napa Valley forum.......where "wine" is always in abundance.Rashad is probably the number two guy in the 205lb division and has a style that has been shown to give Anderson problems. Let Chris heal up properly and take the next turn.

IMO Rashad has much better standup and could mix that up with his wrestling better than Weidman can. Weidman would be more predictable about wanting to take it to the ground, so that would be an easier fight for Silva. Weidman does have the better submissions, but I don't think Rashad is an easier fight at all.

What a fucking joke, Anderson knows he will get subbed by Weidman, Rashad cant hold anyone down and has ZERO submission attempts in the UFC
