White: Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman next... probably

With the recent losses of Michael Bisping and Rashad Evans, Chris Weidman may be the last man standing, in front of UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

"I'd have to say yes," said White at the UFC post-fight press conference, when asked if Silva vs. Weidman was the next logical booking. "Going into this fight, we wanted to wait. We wanted to see what happened. I liked Weidman for this fight, anyway, so yeah."

"We've got to make the fight. We've got to make sure Weidman is alright. The later the better for Weidman though.

"We're thinking about the summer. It looks like Weidman. As long as Weidman's healthy that's probably the fight we'll make."

White said he has yet to approach Silva or his camp about the fight but hopes to get something done soon. There are a still a few variables, including Weidman's continued recovery from a November shoulder surgery.

Vitor was aggressive, he had Anderson dodging punches on the ground.

Vitor was way to cautious with anderson, he needs to fight Anderson like he did bisping. Yes AS is much more dangerous but vitor doesn't stand a chance if he fights like he did before. It's going to take someone like wiedman IMO. Someone who doesn't fight like they have already lost. Wieeman being young and on a streak gives him a chance. Everyone else will mentally lose the match before it even starts.

I guess we now find out if Anderson is really ducking weidman . I think he will fight him right away if Dana says that's the fight.

If Gilbert gets to jump past a STACKED LW division with only a couple solid wins on his resume lately, Rockhold certainly could be justified as well. Doesn't look like he will get the shot though. He will have to beat someone big first.

Rockhold's belt MUST get unified somehow, its very important... IF Anderson doesnt fight him soon , Anderon's belt becomes waterd down....            jk

No I pointed out Hendo fought him and he fought the best as an even smaller guy then AS is what I pointed out. I's guess I said Wand, and lots of others too that Hendo fought. At least your right in saying "Belfort isn't 'jumping' anybody". He will not IMO. His win (Bisping who never won a big fight himself ever) was raked lower, then Weidman's (a win X a #3). He beat a #6 prior so this not about one win.We disagree NP, have a nice night
