Tito Ortiz asks UFC to release Cris Cyborg

On this week’s edition of AXSTV’s Inside MMA, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos’ manager, Tito Ortiz, revealed they have requested her release from the UFC.

According to Ortiz, the UFC is offering his client a lucrative deal, but they want to “stick her over at Invicta.” The Brazilian is looking for a four-fight agreement, with the last scrap coming against current UFC bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey.

However, Cyborg wants all of her bouts, including the blockbuster against Rousey, to take place at a weight no less than 140 pounds. Unfortunately for Ortiz and Co., it’s bantamweight or bust for women in the UFC.

Did she seriously say she didn't want to cut the weight because of possibilities of future children?   I doubt that is even possible at this point in her transformation...

I am far from a kid at 36, and yes I do question any fighter previous wins once they pop for steroid use. Even more so when that person is champion. Cyborg knows the real fights are 135 since she stated it herself in an interview.

Of course it is true. Do you even know anything about her? She was a Judo Olympian way before she got into MMA. Her Judo competition weight was 70kg.Jeesh!

So just because she was busted for Steroids, means every win she had previously is tainted? Funny I don't hear the same theme when it comes to PED Sonnen.Again, most of you are just teens so, I can overlook your emotional and slightly hysterical clinging to your beliefs.Once you get older you will be able to reason much better and find you don't have to contradict yourself in every instance.

That's a weak argument. Why should GSP have to gain weight to fight at Silva's weight class? Why should Silva have to gain weight to fight at Jones's weight class. You are kids and understand you haven't lived long enough to know when you being nonsensical. That is what Highschool is for, if you are paying attention your teachers would tell you guys how to behave in public.

Just stop the gear and she will lose 10 lbs easy. Sounds like she is refusing to fight clean so she wants her papers instead.

Two factors prevent Cyborg from dropping to 135...1. Years of steroid use has altered her physiology so that she naturally maintains more muscle tissue even when off the juice. This happens to all users to an extent, but can alter a woman's body even more.2. The strength training and workout routine she is accustomed to maintains a certain amount of mass and size that she can only lose if she lowers the intensity of her training. And she doesn't consider lowering the intensity of her training to be an option.
