Ronda Rousey is the very definition of game as she works takedowns with world-class Lightheavyweight Gegard Mousasi.

Aside from the fact that Mousasi is 50% larger than Rousey, there is also the perhaps small matter that he is quite male, with all the attendant testosterone and muscle mass.

^and of all combat sports, Judo is the worst as far as injuries. Hands down.

Ronda comes from a sport/martial art with a huge tradition of open weight competition and training. I'm not sure she'll ever change that mentality. I'd imagine they are more cautious during fight prep though.

Before i get too critisized for giving my opinion, i do realize Gegard Mousasi is a very talented Professional athlete. But, still, all it takes is one small tweek in a split second for the much outweighed partner, because although, you want to rely on technique when going with such bigger opponents, you end up having to sacrifice your technique and use unnecessary (sp) strenth instead. (as you saw Ronda doing) And that's when injury's happen.

Sure i will take heat for this or people won't agree with me...But, through my years of training (especially at MFS), i was always the smallest guy in the gym, wrestling/grappling with way bigger guys. Looking back, this was way too much pressure on my spine with all the pounding, weird angles, ect..I contribute this to my back problems today. However, back in the old days, you didn't have the luxury of a room full of different weight classes. Anyway, I'm surprised to see Ronda doing this with such a much bigger and stronger partner. Wanna talk about injuries before a fight...this right here in my humble opinion is the recipe for just that! I can just see DW speach now, had she got hurt doing takedowns in that video. I hope she doesn't match up with partners like this alot. It has a strong potential to end careers early. Or continue your career in miserable daily back pain. Just not worth it.

Gegard would submit tito at will in a grappling match, second tito was doing a light roll with cyborg. Ronda and Gegard were doing a takedown drill..
