White: Bellator doesn't even exist anymore

At the UFC on FUEL 7 post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White was asked several questions about rival promotion Bellator MMA, headed by CEO Bjorn Rebney.

White repeatedly referred to Rebney as "Bjork," maybe accidentally, maybe not.

"Understand guys, you're not dealing with Bellator," White stated. "Bellator doesn't even exist anymore. Do you think f@$%ing Bjork is running f@$%ing Bellator? Do you think Bjork is running Bellator? Do you really think that? There's no way in hell.

"Viacom is running that company. They're a multi-billion dollar f@S%ing business.

"One of the most powerful media companies on Earth. What's the number they sit on? 5.5 billion in cash? 5.5 billion in cash. Break some off for f@$%ing Eddie Alvarez and pay him what he deserves."

White took particular exception to remarks by Viacom President and CEO Philippe Dauman, who said that “in airing U.F.C. fights and reality shows, Spike really built UFC from almost nothing.”

"They're doing f@$%ing 700,000 viewers and the numbers are dropping like f@$%ing flies," said White. "They better start leveraging something quick. But they built the UFC. You know that, right? Dauman said he built the UFC. Philippe Dauman is the pompous, arrogant guy who runs Viacom, who claims he built the UFC. Well whatever you did building the UFC, brother, you better f@$%ing start doing it again because things aren't looking good over there."

What do you think UG? Who is running Bellator, particularly given that the NY Times said "Mr. Dauman, ranked as the nation’s highest-paid C.E.O. in 2011 and known for his custom-tailored clothes and Hermès cuff links, has not yet attended a fight."

I love MMA. I love watching fights. Good fights.  I love watching UFCs and I get excited weeks in advance for them. I pay for the PPVs and it makes my weekend watching fights on a Saturday night. I love the free cards we are getting from the UFC. They're like awesome little gifts in between the PPVs.  I also love Bellator. The fights are free and always exciting. I love the tournament format and seeing the fighters progress throughout the season.   The UFC and Bellator are so totally different. And you can find pros and cons for each promotion. And as a fan of the sport I hope both can continue to coexist.  PS  WAR CHRIS CHANDLER :)

Then obviously I wasn't talking about you...I like Bellator also, but it's no myth that MMA hipsters run rampant on this forum

Why is it so hard to belive that people love Bellator for the great fights? Idc what name is on the mat, good fights are good fights and Bellator is good at delivering a consistently exciting product. ( I think due to them hiring a disproportionately high number is strikers whereas the UFC has tons of wrestlers)It is a myth that people only like Bellator because its "not UFC". Most people watch both or just UFC.

I like how in the UFC there will be one guy and if he wins he gets a "Title shot" but if the other guy does he doesn't, lol, how does that make any sense?Like I said, the UFC runs like the BCS

yup, in Bellator if your earn a title shot, YOU GET A TITLE SHOT. None of this in the mix shit or some random dude from a different weight class dropping down and cutting in line.I dont think youll ever hear people say that a bellator fighter doesnt deserve a title shot because he doenst have enough twitter followers.

The point is if they were in the UFC they would be called cans. Whether on a PPV card or a free one.MMA hipsterism is a very real phenomena
