Carmouche: All the pressure is on Rousey

“I really feel like there’s more pressure on her. I’m coming in as the underdog, nobody expects for me to stand a chance. The pressure is on her to follow through with everything that she’s done so far and to stick with her gameplan, to implement her gameplan. So for me, anything I do is just amazing and it’s beyond what anybody expected.”

Regardless of making her UFC debut and getting face-to-face with Rousey, Carmouche said there’s no way that she’ll suffer from a case of the Octagon Jitters come February 23rd.

“I don’t let it overwhelm it. I see it in perspective and I realize that it’s there, but it’s just like any other fight. I’ve been in the position where I was a co-main event. I’ve headlined with Marloes and Dan Henderson before, so it’s not like it’s really in mind that different. It’s just a different place and a different cage.”

Confident as ever, Liz is ready to prove that Rousey is not indestructible. Carmouche believes that she can spoil the champ’s plan of coasting to victory come Saturday night, no matter who may think otherwise.

“I’m okay with people seeing me as an underdog and I’m okay with people underrating me because it gives me just that much more of an opportunity to blow everybody’s mind and come out with a bang.”

Hate to say it but I think all the pressure is going to be on her elbow.

Pulling for Liz, but I think the first scenario you mentioned is likely.

All the same, Ronda is a very strong woman who has been training Judo since she could walk. Once Rousey gets her hands on Liz I don't see any realistic way she's not getting taken down and subbed. Having said that I would love nothing more Saturday night (MMA-related that is) then to come onto the UG and see 50 "Oh S**t!" threads.

She's right, she's got shit to lose. Hope this ends like GSP/Serra 1, the Internet would explode

Ronda is fighting for more than defending the belt. The media attention, the hype, sponsors, ect. Liz is completely correct.

I agree.  This fight has a Matt Serra ending written all over it.  It could be really easy for Ronda to let all the hype get to her.
