MMA Elite to cover $100,000 cost of Mark Coleman's hip surgery

Earlier this week Mark Coleman announced that he will fight no more in the cage forever, and faces a total hip replacement. Entire cost of the surgery is $100,000, a sum well beyond his current means.

In amazingly great news, Coleman's longtime sponsor MMAElite stepped up and is covering the cost of the surgery.

An emotion Coleman, offered his thanks.

"I gotta thank MMA Elite," said Coleman. "Without them, I would be in a lot of trouble. They've sponsored me for a long time - I've been with them since the beginning.

They've stuck with me and you know after you're done fighting, I'll tell you what you've got to dig deep and find out what you're going to do next. And I'll tell you what, Im still trying to figure it out.

But MMA Elite, Pro Elite, thank you so much. I love you, and I appreciate everything you have done for me. Without them I'd be in a lot of trouble.

But Im going to fight on. I'm not a quitter. I'm going to keep fighting on.

FOLLOW MMA Elite on Twitter and let them know how much you appreciate their stepping up...

Brutal seeing how it plays out with legends. Between Coleman's hip surgery and Ares McDonald's neck injury it shows the toll a lifetime of spilling blood takes

In America it could have cost him as little as 0 if he had health insurance, which he could have easily had. Lack of education about the necessity of insurance is the issue.I don't believe Coleman couldn't afford insurance and if he couldn't that's from some poor decision making on his part not some system.

When he's not mad, and if you're not Tito Ortiz, Mark is a really nice guy. Seriously though, as a long time Coleman fan I'm glad he's getting help with his medical costs.
