Guida injured, forced out of UFC on FOX 7 bout with Mendes

Chad Mendes is once again without an opponent, as Clay Guida has suffered an undisclosed injury and will be unable to compete at UFC on FOX 7.

Sherdog.com recently confirmed the development with sources close to the situation, who verified that Mendes is still expected to compete at the April 20 event from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif., though the search for a new opponent has apparently not gone well.

i truly believe Clay Guida understood he could not fight mendes the way he does everyone else and get away with it and possibly faked injury to avoid the shame of losing badly and getting cut.

Sucks for Mendes but I hope they keep him on the card.Yes the card can afford to lose that fight since the prelims are still really good but I hope they can get someone decent to fight him, not a total joke of a fight.Hioki or Georgi would be a great replacement.

I'm guessing the injury is bad shin splints or runner's knee. Im never happy when a dude gets hurt but im happy a Guida fight won't be forced on us.
