Georges St-Pierre retains title, earns five round decision win over Diaz

The welterweight title fight was the main event of Saturday's UFC 158 event at Bell Centre in Montreal. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook.

St-Pierre's intensity was evident from the moment he stepped into the cage. The trademark intensity somehow brought to an even higher lever as Diaz taunted him from the other side of the octagon. There was no touch of gloves

Diaz walked forward with punches to open the fight, but St-Pierre answered with kicks to the leg and then scored a takedown just seconds into the opening round. Diaz quickly rolled and turned as he looked for opportunities on the floor, but St-Pierre patiently controlled the positioning as he transitioned from side to side and looked for a chance to take his opponent's back. Diaz defended well as he turned to create space, but it was complete positional control for St-Pierre throughout the frame.

A frustrated Diaz lunged at St-Pierre well after the bell, but referee Yves Lavigne was there to prevent any contact.

After much examination and reflecting I have to whole heartedly agree with you that GSP totally dominated Diaz in every respect.

Diaz got dominated from bell to bell in every aspect of MMA.There was nothing he could do that gsp wasn't better at. Open your eyes.Diaz didn't win a single minute of that fight

Hahah what dumbasses really Nick doesn't want to fight anyone else excpet GSP or Condit. If you guys actually apid attention to shit you'd know he said he wanted a rematch with Condit or GSP, and if you even watched the fight you would have saw there was no beating or domination. At least some people realize this. If you want to all be blind to what you are seeing go watch some GSP fights and tell me about those "nasty beating" he delivers like on a low tier fighter like Hardy right? Oh wait he couldn't cuz of his "amazing skills". I get a little sickened by you GSP super fans

Nobody's impressed by GSP but nobody's able to submit/decision/ktfo him.. you'd have to give him props for negating every opponent gameplan whatever they are and ragdolling/dominating them until the depths of hell..
