Not technically. Ellenberger exposed Rory as a pointfighter.

The natural born fighters, fighting in MMA are getting diluted more and more.Robbie Lawler, Liddell, Wand, Fedor.. These doods were fighting regardless if it were profitable or popular. That's why guys like that are usually in exciting fights. That's probably why most women fights are good too. Can't say the same for Ellie Bee and Mickey Dee

well, he was also not using the small wind-up one might use with a jab in boxing... he was kind of using a JKD "straight lead" stance.... hence the power.but i hate to point this out, but when he has a significant reach advantage against a decorated wrestler, why would you expect him NOT to use his reach?!?

^this was one of the complaints when GSP stomped Kos in their second outing... but every time GSP popped Kocheck with a jab, Kos jumped back out of range. if you hit someone, and every time you do they jump back, then they are losing... bad.

this is such a simple-minded argument..."it's not fair that he beat him with a jab!" shit, learn how to box... the jab is like the most basic technique one is taught, and yet the bread and was the same thing when wrestlers began to dominate MMA, when people whined about getting taken down...and after watching that fight, Rory cannot bear the entire burden.....Jake simply had nothing for him. i hate to say it as a fan of Ellenberger, but he looked pretty bad out there, and unfortunately, an awful lot smaller, too... the only real offense he mounted was a double leg with a minute left in the 3rd. if you expect a guy to win by doing nothing, then you're insane.

I re-watched the fight when I got home and it wasn't as bad as it was live. On the TV you could see the damage being done. Still lackluster but not as boo worthy.

Lol at Fitch beating McDonald, Fitch is past his best and the days of him beating a top 5 guy are long gone

it is just a matter of time until wrestlers figure out how to avoid the jab and take the opponenet down, but for now, i am enjoying the nasty technical jab. it is just fun to watch someone get beaten up by a a simple basic jab. it was beautiful.
