DFW: Tito returning? Who gives a $#!*

38-year-old UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz retired following a Fight of the Night winning loss to Forrest Griffin on July 7, 2012 at UFC 148. Earlier this month Ortiz indicated he was interested in fighting again, notably letting both the UFC and Bellator parent company Viacom know about it, via Twitter.

•The final tweet was deleted, and included an image of the doormat at Bellator's corporate offices, which reads 5000 Birch. The Newport Beach, California address is near Ortiz's home. Bellator recently signed Tito's longtime friend Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson.

UFC president Dana White offered a characteristically blunt response.

"Who gives a s--t?" White said.

"Tito's lost every fight he's had for the last three years or something? He won one fight in the last three years against Ryan Bader. Tito hung in there and made some more money. He was a guy who was around in the early days. It's time for Tito to move on."

"Tito's going to have to do whatever Tito's going to have to do. Tito is the guy who back in the early days was like, 'I'm going to retire young from this sport. I'm going to become an actor, and my Punishment Athletics line is going through the roof. I'm not going to be that guy who hangs around the sport.' Does anybody remember all that s---?

"Now Tito's like, 'Yeah, I think I'm going to come back. I haven't won a fight in three years, and I'm old.' Obviously, Tito needs money. That's the only reason he would come back."

His skull was cracked too.Nate Quarry had to get 13 screws in his face after the Rivera fight-had to retire for good that time. I was suprised he came back at all. They put this metal thingy in between one of his vertabre to hold it together.yuck

Dana acts like Tito never accomplished anything at all in mma? He did alot more for MMA than Forrest and Bonnar ever did but Dana seems to talk like those 2 fighters were where it all started. Im sure hell talk shit on those guys at some point as well once hes not making money of thier backs.

"Oh, it was absolutely pathetic. It made him look like as big a shithead as these Tito remarks. But there is a reason for all this tough talk. Take a good look at this pic. This is the real Dana White. A pudgy schlub who now way overcompensates. This was after Pride Total Elimination in 2003. He was waving the trophy like he won the fight. In the post fight interview he was giddy when he said in his then pipsqueak voice:"I'm really excited. We trained hard for this. I keep saying we. I've invested a lot, emotionally physically...I'm just really excited. Chuck came into the ring and gave me this trophy."Dana, you're not worthy of carrying Chuck or Tito's jockstrap, let alone their trophys. So go paint Ronda's toenails and STFU."lol. Awesome.

He had L4-L5-S1 fused in his lower spine. Two discs removed, two levels. He had C5-C6 (I think..maybe c6-c7) in his neck fused. One disc removed, one level. Then he had an artificial disc put in at another level in his neck. He mentioned it on MMA hour I think. That's some serious fucking spine surgeries. When ever you fuse a level (two vertibrae) you distribute the loads and stress to the adjacent discs and they now are dealing with more than they are designed for. They can last a while under normal living...but MMA training...No way. Personally I think he's fucking nuts and needs to check his pride and ego at the door and enjoy his legacy. If I'm not mistaken even Nate Quarry had to go back and have more back surgery after his fusion in his upper lumbar. Probably from MMA training and fighting after the fusion. It's pretty remarkable to have those kinds of surgeries and be able to feel good enough to live a normal life, let alone train and fight MMA. Mike Goldberg even had an ADR in his lumbar as well. They all went to the same doctor. But still, once you have back issues...it's time to baby your spine as you still have a lot of life in front of you.
