out of the major sports, hockey players seem to play injured the most. dislocations, severe cuts, teeth getting knocked out, and there back the next period playing and getting hit

In terms of grit and toughness, hockey players know what they're talking about. I'll never forget seeing a Ryan Kesler with a badly damaged hip come together with Chris Higgins who had a broken foot, so they could carry Mason Raymond off the ice after he had just broken his back.
