Update: Madadi released from UFC following burglary conviction

Reza Madadi was a good prospect in the lightweight division, having started his career 2-1, however it is now likely he will be released following a conviction on a burglary charge:

Madadi was part of a group convicted of breaking into and stealing merchandise from a high-end handbag store in Stockholm, according to a report by MMAnytt.se.

Madadi’s UFC contract was suspended during the investigation, but if his conviction is upheld, the contract will be terminated.

“If he stole a bunch of handbags and is convicted of it, yeah, I’m sure he’s gonna be cut,” said UFC president Dana White on Saturday night following UFC Fight Night 26 in Boston.

Call me cynical, but I wouldn't be surprised if that lifesaver story was made up as some sort of promo. And why would he steal if not for profit?!

This guy is a good person who saved two people's lives. I'm sure he didn't just steal that shit to make a extra profit. I know exactly what he is going through because I'm going through the same thing. Well minus the sentence.

This wouldn't be a problem if the UFC actually paid the majority of its fighters a living wage. This guy is so hard up for money as a professional athlete, that he has been forced to break the law to make ends meet.Sad, sad state of affairs.
