Evans ready to set aside friendship for business

Fighting someone in the Octagon isn't always about wanting to hurt someone or beat up an adversary, sometimes it's just about business. When Rashad Evans mets Chael Sonnen at UFC 167, that's exactly what it comes down to for Evans:

"It's not manufactured (friendship), it's not false, I really do like Chael. Chael is a real good guy, I like Chael a lot. But, when it comes down to fighting, it's a business and I know that he is going to step into the cage 100-percent prepared for me, so I have to do the same. I can't go in there, like, ‘Oh, that's my buddy Chael.' No, Chael is going to try to whoop me. Chael is going to whoop me and be able to brag on me so I got to go out there and do what I need to do."

Not even a huge Sonnen fan, but he should be making WAY more than $100K per fight. If the UFC puts him in main events on FS1, it means they feel he is a draw. Dude should be making $1M a fight if he's headlining.

Just heard sonnen earned $100k from UFN 28.  He hasn't done anything to deserve that kind of salary, he certainly has never held a championship or beat a former UFC champion.

Yeah but I think the main difference is that they aren't training partners.
