White: UFC 168 will be biggest UFC show ever

UFC 100 was massive, headlined by:
•Heavyweight Championship unification bout: Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir;
•Welterweight Championship bout: Georges St-Pierre (c) vs. Thiago Alves; and, despite not being a title fight, the one no one forgets...
•Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping

UFC president Dana White says UFC 168 will be bigger, in every way. The fan made poster below gives some idea of why, but there is much more. The traditional year end show main event is the rematch between Anderson Silva and new UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman. Card to date also features Josh Barnett vs. Travis Browne, Michael Johnson vs. Gleison Tibau, Diego Brandao vs. Dustin Poirier, and Uriah Hall vs. Chris Leben.

"I think it's going to be the biggest fight we've ever done," said White. "Bigger than UFC 100. On every level. Tickets, pay-per-views, everything. You're going to see a motivated Anderson, but what makes this so much fun is, what Anderson are you going to see? How is this thing going to go? That's such a big part of the fun."

"Just think about this. If you put it in your head, the f------ music goes off, the lights go down, the walk-in music starts, when they go down on Dec. 28, how f------ crazy is that going to be? How insane is that going to be when they start walking in?"

Of course it will be the biggest show ever, that's why you and the F brothers paid Silva to lose, so you guys could pocket twice as much.  You tried the same thing with Jones, but he unexpectedly won- as you could tell from your facial expression when Buffer made the announcement.

Zuffa is struggling with that fight right now for a few reasons...  1.  that fight is too big to put in jersey...  and the mgm will pay good money for it. 2. with all the titles tied up zuffa still needs a main event for superbowl weekend so Jones vs Glover would be suffecient for that venue... and then do the gustaffson fight on july 4th weekend in vegas. 3. Jones needs more time to improve his hands cuz he was being worked... Gustaffson has a much better shot at beating jones if the rematch is so soon.  It was one elbow that won jones the fight... other than that gustaffson was winning everywhere. Jones should beat Glover... Gustaffson should beat Little NOg.  and then you have a huge rematch in the summer.

No. UFC 100 was perfect timing. Brock Lesnar at his peak both physical and as a draw; Frank Mir as the ultimate heel, Hendo vs Bisping after a spirited TUF. GSP was an afterthought. THAT is how fucking big UFC 100 was. It was "Oh yeah and GSP is defending the title". MMA Elite tees stocked Wal Mart shelves, every club was filled with guys in Affliction or gold foil knockoff tees, Spencer gifts at the mall had a huge UFC display, BWW would get packed and TURN away customers on a Saturday. UFC at the time of 100 was as hot as pro wrestling at the peak of WWE vs WCW with Stone Cold/The Rock and NWO. Today, WrestleMania does well but it took The Rock returning to draw money. UFC has no Brock Lesnar replacement and the original isn't coming back. Affliction is out of style and the mall doesn't have UFC displays and BWW isn't even packed on a PPV Saturday. The bubble has burst. UFC 168 will do better than any other UFC show since UFC 100. But it won't beat UFC 100. That was a different time and the perfect moment.

Pretty shitty son if you ask me, only visiting your dad 2 times in 6 years. How about you do less bullshit posts and spend more time with your family.

Damn you know UFC 100 was huge when GSP was just the co-main event.

I just realized the last 6 years I've visited my Dad in Colorado 2 times.   The first time, me and my dad got to watch the very last Win by Fedor before his reign ended. This last time, me and my dad got to watch Anderson lose his first loss.   Sorry, off topic rant.   (Fedor=Goat)

One of the things about 100 was not just the headline fight with Brock Lesnar, but also the fact that it was a landmark number UFC and had a completely stacked card. They basically turned it into a fight festival. If they are planning on doing the same with Weidman-Silva 2, then that's fantastic. If not, it will still be a great fight, but won't top 100.
