White: Jones greatest accomplishments ever at light heavyweight

Earlier this week, UFC president Dana White appeared at media event in Brazil to promote UFC 168: Weidman vs. Silva 2 on Dec 28. During it, he declared Jon Jones the greatest UFC light heavyweight champion of all time.

"Jones has had the toughest run of guys in the UFC," said white, as transcribed by MMAMania. "I mean, to get to the belt and to defend the belt, Jones has had to go through hell. Yeah, and he's the most accomplished. Nevermind Tito Ortiz, let's talk about Chuck Liddell, somebody who could actually really fight. Even Chuck Liddell, the things he accomplished and the things that he did, what Jon Jones has accomplished is greater than any light heavyweight, ever."

At UFC 165 Jones defended his title for the sixth time, breaking the lightheavyweight title defense record, set by Tito Ortiz  at on 11/22/2002. Further, some call Jones vs. Gustafsson the best light heavyweight title fight ever.

What do you think UG? Is Jon Jones the light heavyweight GOAT? And was there ever a better title fight at 205 than Jones vs. Gus?

Is it enormously much more than fighters at every other weight class? From what I've read he cuts from 230. GSP cuts from 190.  20-25lbs. Define 'enormous'? You people have got to become more sensible.

This is like saying Jerry Rice or Emmitt Smith weren't as good as people say, because they were pretty slow comparatively speaking. It's retarded.

You honestly think Jon had no voice in who he fought next? Jon tries to claim he "decisively won" and does not want a rematch. That aligns perfectly for the UFC as they want Jon to stay the champ. If Jones came out and said it was so close that he WANTED a rematch, it would happen.

Definitely. Last fight did show some weaknesses but, it's quite scary the way he's been destroying them and being so young. Will go down as one of the best ever I reckon.

Your just mad because the majority of people think Gus won, And he did.Get over it , Jon lost that fight. Even the majority of UFC fighters thought so. Brendan Schaub told us that he saw Jones with major concussion symptoms backstage. ( ears bleeding, puking, no balance, shaking uncontrollable.)This isn't hate this is just presenting facts, if you can't deal with it just log out.
