Rankings Update 11.12.13: Henderson falls

After each live event, the UFC polls various members of the media to update its Rankings in each weight division as well as the pound for pound rankings.

With only a couple meaningful bouts at last weekend's Ultimate Fight Night 32, the only real movement was in the middleweight rankings:

Champion : Jon Jones

1 Alexander Gustafsson

2 Glover Teixeira

3 Phil Davis

4 Rashad Evans

5 Antonio Rogerio Nogueira

6 Chael Sonnen +1

7 Dan Henderson -1

8 Gegard Mousasi

9 Mauricio Rua

10 Lyoto Machida

With his loss to Vitor Belfort, Dan Henderson moved down one spot to seventh, allowing Chael Sonnen to move up a spot without fighting. Although this bout was contested at light heavyweight, Belfort remains ranked second in the middleweight division.

Yes, what a shitty division indeed. Hashad hasn't looked great lately. Hendo just came off losing three in a row, including 1 KO.Little Nogs only relevant win recently is Hashad, in between being injured and inactive.

Damn, those rankings are messed up.  2 of the top 10 don't even fight in the division anymore.  Mousasi's best recent win at LHW was back in 2009 over Babalu and since then has lost to King Mo and drew with Keith Jardine.  Lil Nog at #5?  Shogun's only wins in 3.5 years are Vera and Forrest.  He's 2-4 in that time period.  Glover at #2 hasn't beat anyone on that list.  Chael, ranked at #6, is 1-1 in the division in the past 8 years.  Hendo is 0-3 in the past 2 years. What a clusterfuck.

The only reason he wants the title at MW so bad, is because he had already knocked out two contenders and claimed his spot. I'm sure he would fight for the title at 205 again if he got the chance, I think people are just assuming with the way he was dismantled in the first Jones fight, that he wouldn't get a rematch there. But hell, look at how good he's looked. I think he wants his shot at redemption against Anderson. Maybe if he loses this next shot he will go back up to 205.

if vitor wanted to just be lhw he would easily be ranked top 5 probably top 3 in that division.he wants to fight for mw title though...the rankings are and will always be questionable.

I suppose Glovers only top 10 win was Bader at the time. But besides that, all of them are outside the top 10.

Yes he was already named the number one contender, this fight was just to keep him busy.

If Machida's being ranked at LHW, he's obviously above Hendo.
