Roufus: We haven't seen the best of Pettis yet

Anthony Pettis is the UFC lightweight champion and is one of the more dynamic finishes in the sport. Pettis has finished his last three opponents in the first round, but Roufus believes we have yet to the best of the young champion:

"People are critical," Roufus admitted. "Anthony was so pumped to fight in December. He'd fight constantly (if he could), especially with his new deal the UFC has gotten him. He'd love to fight often.

"So we're positively moving forward. Time flies in this business. It's crazy, it's December already. I remember January, when he fought (Donald) Cerrone with the boys down in Chicago like it was yesterday.

"He'll be 27 next year, and the crazy thing about Anthony Pettis, I give him a B in his performance against Ben Henderson," Roufus continued. "That wasn't even the best Anthony Pettis. He fought the fight with a separated shoulder on a month's notice. That's the kind of kid he is. We haven't even seen the best of Anthony Pettis yet. That's scary."

I hope he can get healthy and keep the belt for a long time. The Dude is all action in the cage.

Damn a lot of haters in here. I said it in another Pettis thread but I really believe he has the potential to be one of the greats. I'm not really concerned about his injuries...yet.

The hate is strong in this thread. Dude always comes right back though. These are legit injuries. If you've never gone through a six week training camp for a fight, and at his level, not surprising. I'd rather him take the time he needs when he brings what he does to a fight.

^AGREED! How can we ever see how good he really is if he is hurt and out all the time.  Someone gave him a good new nickname   Anthony "Shelf time" Pettis lol   Anthony "hurt all the time" Pettis    Anyone anyone has to have Time in it so it matches a bit with Showtime lol.

Yeah because he gets hurt after every fight. If he can't stay healthy we'll never know how good he could be.
