Sexton, Sakara, Sotiropoulos off roster

Rosie Sexton, Alessio Sakara, and George Sotiropoulos were removed from the UFC.com list of active fighters, which is generally a sign that they have been released from their contracts.

Sexton is 0-2 in the UFC, and faces neck surgery.

George Sotiropoulos is 0-4 his last four fights.

Alessio Sakarais likewise is 0-4 his last four.

As new talent is signed, some of the older fighters are by necessity released, but it is not anyone's favorite part of the sport, and for particular fans of a fighter, it is really bad news.

G-Sots used to rely on his awesome ground game heaps more than he does now. When he fought Silver and Pearson he thought he had to prove something by standing with them. He almost refused to take Pearson down because everyone said Pearson would light him up on the feet which he did. He is not the boxer he used to be especially using it to transition To his ground game. I'm an Aussie and used to love sots but his attitude on tuf made it impossible to like him over Pearson.

I think that it was the first wrench, but the second and biggest wrench was the Dos Anjos ko after that. He was touted to come back from the Siver loss and handily beat Dos Anjos, only for him to get KOed in less than a minute.

Yep, the Siver fight exposed Gsots chin and he did plummet downhill from there. Sucks though cos I really like the guy

Could sexton not have made 115 she looked on the real small side for 135. Shame to see anybody lose a job at this time of year.

My thoughts exactly. I think it was the Denis Siver fight that through a monkey wrench into that, I remember Sots couldn't take him down and it's been all downhill since.
