'Big' Nog planning to retire in 2-3 years

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, 'Big Nog', has been fighting professionally for fifeteens years since he was twenty two years old. Nogueira has fought the best heavyweights in the world amassing an impressive 34-8-1 record, but now 37 years old, knows that his end is coming:

The legendary heavyweight from Brazil, who turns 38 years old in July, has bounced back and forth between wins and losses inside the Octagon since losing the interim UFC heavyweight championship in 2008, and plans to hang up the gloves in less than three years.

"I still have four fights left in my contract," Nogueira told MSN. "Until the end (of the contract), I don’t think too much about the future.

"It will depend on the results of my fights. I don’t want to keep losing too many fights. I think I have two or three years left. I’m almost 38, and I don’t want to fight after I’m 40."

I could see them putting him up against someone like Gonzaga on a Brazil card.

LOL He really does deserve to ride off into the sunset. In my mind, he's still in the top 5 GOATs for doing what he did in his career. My favorite fighter of all time.

I think he means he should have retired 2-3 years ago. The second loss to mir or the win over shaub or herman and he should have walked.Id like to see him fight hunt and walk away win or lose. If struve comes back that could be a fun fight too

Hopefully a plush corporate job representing UFC in Brazil awaits. Nog deserves a nice fattening retirement....occasionally strolling to the park to feed the buses :)
