White: STFU about uniforms, it's like a f@$%ing hair salon

When UFC president Dana White floated the idea of a mandatory uniform last week, the sport got up in arms. Rumor had that UnderArmor had bought roots of fight, and the combined entity would become official. Further rumor said that the uniform will include mandatory fight shorts, walkout shirt, and hat. Space on the gear would apparently be provided for fighter sponsors, and perhaps for UFC sponsors, and well as of course the UFC brand and the apparel brand.

The issue raised far more questions than answers, most notably, what will fighters get paid for wearing branded apparel? And that fed into a general discussion about fighter compensation, much of which was negative about UFC management.

At a UFC 170 pre fight media event on Thursday, White reflected sagely on the matter.

"We have no uniform deal," said White as transcribed by MMAMania. "We haven't announced a uniform deal. We said it's something that we're looking into. There's no f---ing uniform deal. It's unbelievable. We announced no uniform deal, there is no deal, but people are bitching about it. Shut the f--- up, everybody.

"When we get a deal done and I come out and announce it, lay out the rules and tell you how it goes, things like that, if that day ever comes, then we can bitch about things and argue about things. Money lost, money made ... it's f---ing ridiculous. There is no deal and we're talking about something that doesn't even exist.

"It's like a fucking hair salon."

the main reason is because of the child-like vindictiveness D'anus has displayed towards fighters or fight teams that have dared voice an opinion that doesn't align with his.

Rocky asks a good question. Managers get a percentage of their fighter's earnings. So if managers lose sponsorships, video game rights, etc, they make less money.I have a few ideas why this is currently the case. All in all, MMA fighters are the ones who have to make the decisions instead of leaving them to others.

One thing I always notice is how much the managers are always so happy with whatever move the UFC makes. You don't see that in any other sport or in movies, but with the UFC everything they do is for the best for their clients. UFC is so great that even managers who's very job description puts them in a confrontational relationship with the UFC have no complaints. I wonder why that is?

ok wellfirst of all, the term 'bitch about' is perjorative and not applicable in quarry's instance, imo'bitter' - he doesnt seem bitter at all to me; he seems calm and reasoned'lives didnt amount to anything' - they sure fucking amounted to more than yours or the average joe's though eh?'feel entitled because they worked for the ufc for a few years' - there could well be a sense of entitlement through having fought for a company which, in the fullness of time, you come to consider could have given you a fairer crack of the whip.

It's not the same in this case, but when it comes to contracts and pay everyone likes to forget they are independent contractors. However, independent contractor or employee, you still have to abide by the person writing the checks rules. Again, the fact of the matter is the one's that constantly bitch have, for the most part, become totally irrelevant in life and they are trying to find someone to blame. I can honestly say there are not a whole lot of professions in the world where you should expect to be set up for life after working for someone a few times a year for about three years. Just speaks to the intelligence and lack of a grasp on reality that most of these guys have.
