I wouldnt give you credit at all on your pre fight pick. No conviction whatsoever to your pick. Rory did not avoid him and take a decision. He shut him down and beat his ass to a decision and would have finished him easy with 5 rounds.

Nothing to do with a lack of killer instinct. Rory fought a brilliant fight and did damage the majority of the 2nd and 3rd.. Jakes Shields had 5 rounds and did zero damage and received nothing but praise. No question Rory finishes Maia easily with 5 rounds. Maia as he showed was still capable of the takedown in the 3rd and still was still capable trying to steal a decision if he could take the 3rd round with takedown and top control. Anyone critical of the way Rory used his skills against this always dangerous opponent - knows zero about fighting, is just a hating bitch or a combination of the two.

The 2nd and 3rd rounds were difficult to watch.Maia was so gassed, he cold barely stand.

shame seeing that team destroy the killer instinct of another insainely talented fighter. amazing to see him get into minimal trouble underneath maia and turn things around. The whole 2nd and 3rd round had that feeling that if he turned it on a few notches higher then he would have easily found the finish... ah well,  maybe he's now another 'gameplaner' and the killer is gone :( sad.

So much for that bet! Wished I'd put on more money after the first round. Second round Maia looked like a zombie, really surprised by how quickly he gassed after a dominant first round.

That's absolute horse shit. At no point does Maia ever stop fighting. Even with no idea what to do and being mocked and beat up by Anderson, dude was swinging in the 5th.Took big shots from Munoz and Weidman and never quit. If he broke mentally when he got hit, he'd find ways out of the fight like a lot of guys do. He doesn't do that.
