Rousey and management clash

Ronda Rousey has had a meteoric rise to stardom as a professional mixed martial artists and that can often lead to issues with management. Rousey's attorney recently spoke to Sherdog about the issues they are having between her and her first management team:

According to Rousey’s attorney, Steven Bash of Bash & Polyachenko, P.C., the fighter’s agreement with the sports management company will not hold up under California law.

“As far as disagreements go, we don’t have any intention to publicly litigate any dispute or air grievances or dirty laundry about their relationship,” Bash told Sherdog.com on Wednesday. “The only current issue is whether or not Fight Tribe can legally be considered Ronda Rousey’s manager under well-established California law, and we feel the answer will be no … Today, the fact is, that [representation agreement] is voidable and null and not legally enforceable. Once we get a determination, then we’ll go from there, but that’s really what the issue is today.”

No clue what is going on here, but in the NFL, it is a very frequent occurrence that agent 1 fronts 6 figures in cash for "marketing" which includes living and training expenses.  Agent 1 to recoup that money typically waits for contract number 2--the CBA largely locksteps the initial contract.  Agent 1 is frequently fired 30 days before Contract 2 is signed. . . and is not repaid the expenses that were advanced.  Agent 1 files for arbitration with the NFLPA.
