Hendo teaches how to throw the H-Bomb

Several years ZUFFA CEO Lorenzo Fertitta famously explained that you can sum up the attraction of MMA in three words - "HOLY F@$%NG S#!*."

"It happens at every fight," said Fertitta. "At least one or two times in every UFC show, whether you say it out loud or you say it to yourself, you go, ‘holy f---ing s--- did that just happen?’ I mean, you might see somebody do a flip, get kicked in the head, get knocked out with a punch. At some point, you’re going ‘whoah, did that just happen? Did I really just see that?’ That’s the nucleus of what our product is."

There are a number of attacks that can make an audience collectively curse in disbelief.

Joe Lauzon's submissions do it.

Lyoto Machida's kicks do it.

But of everything that can happen to you in the Octagon, nothing is worse than the H-Bomb. Here Dan Henderson teaches you how.

First step is to have an effective jab. Its very important for the opponent to respect your jab. Next step is to really make sure you are loose and relaxed throughout your entire body. As most here already know, its extremely important to have loose and relaxed strikes. Next is the setup. There are several you can use, but i prefer the jab set up. - Find your range.... ...jab your opponent as you normally would and find your range so that when you whip your overhand it will clip clean across the chin.- Execution.....when you are ready to let it go. Pump your jab and step forward at the same time. As you are bringing your left back to your own chin, uncork towards your opponent with a hip twist and a drive from your legs. Twist your upper torso in to the strike cleanly so that you generate a ton of force.....keep your fist tight and a loose relaxed arm. Punch through the opponents chin. Your target is about 6 - 12 inches past your opponents face. This will help punctuate the drive. After you have gone through the motion, bring your right arm back to guard position and side step to cut an angle by stepping with your left and turning. That way you are building in a fundamental boxing movement in to your technique that simultaneously works from an offensive and defensive perspective.

True. It's the biggest factor and hard to learn. Moving under someone else's right to throw yours takes some balls too.
