Nogueira wants Mir, then retirement

Tonight at the UFC Fight Night 39, Antonio Nogueira was knocked out by Roy Nelson, leading many fans to question whether or not it's retirement time for the fighter.

After the fight, Nogueira's manager spoke to MMAFighting about his fighter's future plans:

So was that the last time we'll ever see "Big Nog" fight? According to one of his managers Jorge Guimaraes, Nogueira might have other plans.

"Maybe a last fight against Frank Mir to square off and retire," Guimaraes responded moments after the loss when asked if Nogueira will walk away from the sport.

"He mentioned that way before his fight against Roy Nelson was scheduled. He just can't live without avenging these loses."

Not really. This is a case of a guy who got killed by his opponent twice, when he was in better condition, wanting to fight him one more time while being in drastically worse shape. The outcome is inevitable.

UFC made Nog fight Herring a third time and made Wanderlei fight Rampage a third time, I would have no problem with it.

I don't necessarily want to see him fight again, but I do think he deserves another fight,if he wants it.

Not like i wanna see Nog/Mir 3 but this and....Rampage was no where close to having as good a showing as Nog did on Mir in fight 2. Time ran out on both Wand and Nog though.

Has Frank even commented on his plans I heard he was taking a break I guess if Frank was thinking of retirement they could sell that fight.

If he fought a winnable fight(someone susceptible to submissions) and could go out with a W, I'd be stoked. However, Mir has his #. First ko, first sub, what first would happen in the 3rd fight?
