Coach: Cormier, Cain both beat Jon Jones

Jon Jones is the greatest fighter in MMA. His goal is to be the greatest fighter ever. In order to reach all time status, he likely will have to fight both Daniel Cormier and Cain Velasquez.

Both Cormier and Velasquez are trained by American Kickboxing Academy head Javier Mendez. In an interview with excellent Submission Radio, Javier predicts Jones go 0-2 vs. his students.

"Out of everybody that Jones has fought, Daniel's going to be the one that's not going to have an issue with his reach, that's not going to have an issue getting inside," said Mendez as transcribed by David St. Martin for MMAFighting. "He is going to get inside. You know, what happens is gonna happen, but I guarantee you this, he's going to go inside, Daniel's going to take him down and we'll see what happens from there."

UFC president Dana White recently said that a fight between Jones and Velasquez is likely at some point.

“Right now, Cain Velasquez has to fight Werdum,” said White as transcribed by MMAJunkie. “Jon Jones has Gustafsson, possibly Cormier if he wins that fight (vs. Dan Henderson) – he’s got a lot of guys lined up still.

“The other thing is, Jon Jones is 26 years old. As he continues to get older, he will have a harder and harder time making 205, which would eventually probably force him up to heavyweight. It’s not the time for a Cain versus Jon Jones superfight.”

When the time does come, Mendez likes his fighter.

"Jon will definitely pose some problems for Cain, but Cain's going to pose more problems for Jon that he's never faced in his whole entire life," said Mendez.

CroCop also took down and dominated Barnett on the ground. Barnett is not a top wrestler...

Jones wants no part of Cain. After saying he wanted it he backed off when it became a possibility. DC will be a very tuff match up for him. If DC could ragdoll Barnett i think he'll get Jones down pretty quick. Not sure if he could finish him on the ground but he'll get him there.

He talks like he expects Cain and Jones to fight. Didn't Bones already shoot that possibility down? As for Dana saying it's not time for a super fight. I'd say there's never been a better time (once Cain comes back obviously). What if Cain gets another serious injury? What if one of them loses? Don't tempt fate, if the UFC can make this fight happen, do it as soon as humanely possible.

id have both cain and d.c. slightly favored at hw (cain favored a little bit more than d.c.. until i see jon at hw)id have jones as a slight favor over d.c. at lhw (i dont truly know what d.c. looks like at this weight.if he is the same d.c. that he was at hw i would put that fight at dam near even money)and just for fun id have cain slight favor over d.c. at hw. but honestly i would not be surprised by the winner in any of these scenarios.

Is a Bones and Cain now the biggest super fight they can make now makes you wonder how hard Dana will try to make this happen after losing the GSP v Silva fight.
