White would welcome Nick, but not Nate Diaz for Matt Brown

After his epic win over Erick Silva, Matt Brown had a lot of fighter's asking for a fight with him. Brown himself said he would love a legendary fight with Nick Diaz, while Nate Diaz petitioned for a fight with Brown. UFC President Dana White told UFC Tonight that there's no chance of that happening, but would welcome a fight between Brown and Nick Diaz:

"No, no way in the world. That fight has not been talked about, it’s not even close, we’ve never even considered that fight. Nate Diaz did say that he was interested in that fight, but that fight doesn’t make sense. He fights at 155 [pounds], has lost two of his last three fights and Brown’s on this unbelievable roll. Brown is a Welterweight and has been fighting there a long time. He deserves a top contender. Listen, if Nick Diaz wants to come out and fight Brown I’ll do that fight."

I agree with him here. But how bout Dan Henderson vs Daniel Cormier? How does Hendo deserve to fight Cormier who is undefeated? Why isn't Cormier fighting Jones? He deserves it over everyone? Dan was on a losing streak and he wins one fight against the not so hot Shogun and he's back up there in title contention? How is that? Is it his legend status?
Dan has 1 lhw win over 4-0 ufc newcomer and deserves a shot at the belt.....

Credibility son. He dont deserve shit. Gotta earn that shot.

Just as Nate hasn't earned Brown, Hendo hasn't earned Cormier. Not with one win over Shogun.

Hasn't earned Cormier? Is Cormier the champ? This is the match where they both can earn a shot at Jones.

You guys are getting ridiculous with this nonsense. Complaining about fighters not earning title shots, but when matches are made to do so, then it's he hasn't earned the shot at earning a shot. Every top contender can't just line up and all take turns fighting the champ. They're going to have to fight each other and sometimes a lower ranked fighter fights a higher ranked one. That's how you earn a title shot, by actually fighting. Seems like some of you want the top guys to only fight each other with no room for anyone else. Then you complain when you get Cain/JDS over and over again.

Actually, all I was doing here was to compare the situation of Nate Diaz fighting Brown with Hendo fighting Cormier. I forgot about Cormier fighting Cummins instead of Rashad. O.k. and the argument can be made that he hasn't fought enough LHW by some peoples estimation, but the dude is undefeated and he looks pretty damn good. I think it is damn generous of the UFC to give Hendo this fight and I'm a big Hendo fan, but he's had 3 losses in a row with one win over Shogun. Cormier by contrast and patrick cummins aside, has just beat Roy Nelson, Frank Mir,Josh Barnett and Antonio Silva. He's 14-0. Dan's 1-3 in his last 4. Good for Dan. This is the same logic that leads Dana to say that Nate Diaz hasn't earned a shot at Mike Brown. Liek I said good for Dan.

Ah yes. Pay a guy more who skirts obligations, retires after every other fight, and has lost more than he's won recently. Sound logic there. 200k for a Diaz is more than enough. Tell nick to see if he can make even 20k with his super duper intelligence outside of fighting.

I'd buy brown vs either Diaz in a second...especially considering the garbage they have been calling PPV material lately. And if Nick wants 500K, maybe Dana could stop importing snow for christmas or pickup some of his black jack chips and pay him.
