All fighters but one make weight for UFN 43 and 44, plus odds and ends

Get used to it.

There are two UFCs on Saturday - UFC Fight Night 43 in Auckland, New Zealand, and UFC Fight Night 44 in San Antonio, Texas. Below please find the odds and weigh in info for both.

In a further attempt to generate interest in a couple of events that are currently underwhelming the hardcore fanbase, at bottom there is a completely gratuitous image of a very pregnant Kyra Gracie in spandex.

How Fight Odds Work

Unlike a spread on a football game where one team is getting a certain amount of points (ex. Saints +7), in MMA fights the line on the game is called a money line.
James Te Huna (-220)
Nate Marquardt (+180)

In this fight, Te Huna would be the favorite, meaning if you bet $220 on Te Huna and he wins, you would profit $100. If he were to lose though, you would lose the full $220.

If you were to bet on Marquardt at +180, if you bet $100 on Marquardt and he wins the fight, you will profit $180. If Marquardt were to lose the fight, you would lose your original $100 bet.

Depending on how people are betting on the fights the odds will shift from the moment they open, right up until the night of the fights.

Mike Bohn ‏@MikeBohnMMA
Of 448 fighters to weigh for @UFC bouts this year, only two have missed weight. Kelvin Gastelum would be just the third.

Gastelum did not work with famed nutrition coach Mike Dolce for this event, saying Dolce was "too expensive." Gastelum was given two hours to make weight, but failed to do so, and thus forfeits 20% of his purse to his opponent.

Hmmm Soa is the underdog here? I think he's gonna Hulksmash Rosholt tbh.

I don't think his work ethic is the issue... No one gets progressively better at the rate he does with a poor work ethic. I think it's probably just an issue of maintaining a diet and accepting that if he wants to be at 170, he's gonna be hungry a lot. It's a lot harder for guys when they train from their home area and have less high level coaches and training partners to stay on their ass about it... No one wants to be hungry and eat shit food if they've got better options.

Stephens is a solid bet here. He out struck Pettis not too long ago.

Lol I picked Jeremy from the beginning but I didn't know he was going to be so much bigger. Good night cub, Jeremy by KO/TKO

What a fucking staredown. Also, Gastelum could be fighting at LW, he's soft as hell. Questioning his work ethic

Jesus Christ, why did I think Cub was bigger than Stephens?

I'm not placing any bets on that fight until I hear God's gameplan for Marquardt.
