Noted welterweight striker Paul "Semtex" Daley appeared recently on Ariel Helwani's The MMA Hour, and announced he has returned to bellator FC.
Daley fought in Bellator two years ago, and then was scheduled to fight War Machine. War Machine suffered and injury, and then Daley was unable to secure a US work visa due to a Daley pleading guilty to multiple charges surrounding a bar brawl. Daley was then released from his Bellator contract.
Daley kept fighting in other organizations, going 4-1 in MMA and 4-0 in kickboxing, with all eight wins via TKO or KO.
"I don't have the visa yet," said Daley as transcribed by Shaun Al-Shatti for MMAFighting. "But the charges that were against me and the problems I had with obtaining the visa, they weren't major things. They weren't major issues. So I've spoken with the guys at Bellator, told them what was what, and they're confident, the legal team is confident that this visa issue is not going to be a problem."
"I'm there to be champion. I want to be champion. Whether you're with Bellator or the UFC, there's not been a British champion of one of the major promotions."
"Coming back to Bellator, I think a big win over one of their bigger welterweight stars and then I'll be challenging Douglas Lima for the belt."
