Bellator 123 set an attendance record for the Mohegan, and doubled UFC fight Night 50 attendance with that UFC card down the road ? Reem-Rothwell to boot ? How did that happen ? I have heard so much good, and bad things about Bellator 123, but I think they will come up roses again despite themselves. They have support for some reason, and I don't know what went down numbers wise for viewership, but, I suspect they will do very well if that last PPV was considered a success at over 100,000 views. The 123 show was viewed enough to generate this kind of interest begs the question, whose buying the tickets ? Why ? Lashley ? Isn't he a wrestler ? Isn't Lawal a UFC cast-off ? The UFC had Moussasi-Souza for chrissake ! The Reem- Rothwell for crying out loud. Someone give me some answers. Is the Bellator organization creeping up ? If so they really don't need that Ortiz-Bonnar lamebrain hype machinations, much less the mask schtick. The card was good. The featherweight championship bout rocked, and I suspect the UFC has its sights dialled in on those combatants. But really I thought the card was in trouble because of Fight Night 50. Are the fight fans looking for a new organization ? I am puzzled. Dumbfounded. Maybe Bellator has that home-boy local organization feel to it. Maybe its less expensive. Either way it is good for MMA to have a second or more organizations bringing fights. They can move up from using UFC retreads soon, but, I suspect Ortiz-Bonnar will put them even more into the MMA landscape. What with Chandler-Brooks on the same card. Even if Ortiz-Bonnar are well past prime it should draw some MMA fans. Probably from the UFC fanbase. I suspect more and more UFC fans will be tuning in to Bellator as their cards improve. I really don't think Viacom will sell Bellator even if the UFC were to buy it at even a 30 or 40 million dollar loss to get them out of the picture. Hope not. What impressed me most was Bellator not changing dates, or Locales, just going head to head with the UFC, even if it changed the start time a bit. Stood by its guns, and it looks like got great results. Next up Couture-Fedor. How would that grab ya ?

Is the Bonnar Ortiz fight going to be as fixed as that in cage promo was? At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if it was.
