Drysdale out of UFC 163 with a Staph infection
Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review Journal is reporting that Vegas native Robert Drysdale, 32, is out his UFC debut vs. Ednaldo Oliveira at UFC 163 on Aug. 3 in Rio de Janeiro.
The reason for the withdrawal is reportedly a staph infection.
Drysdale is a highly decorated grappler, having won gold at the 2005 Mundials in 2005, and at the ADCC submission wrestling world championships.
Drysdale switched to MMA in 2008, and is now 6-0 as a pro, with all wins via submission in the first round.
Tatame is reporting that Francimar “Bodao” Barroso will step in vs. Oliveira.
