MMA fans buzzed last month when Marvel released a still image of Georges St-Pierre, as Batroc, battle Captain America in the new movie.
Today an extended video trailer for the movie, shows St-Pierre in action against the super hero:
The image Marvel originally posted is below:
GSP, a proud Quebecois, plays French kickboxing master Georges Batroc, AKA Batroc the Leaper, in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
“My character is a French mercenary, speaks French, a martial arts expert of savate, Olympic lifting champion,” said GSP. “A little bit like a guy who can jump really high and stuff… he’s called a leaper. The character fit me well.”
With origins dating all the way back to 1966’s “Tales of Suspense” #75, Batroc doesn’t have any superhuman abilities beyond his mastery of martial arts. While he’s primarily a Cap foe, he’s appeared throughout the Marvel Universe and done battle with the likes of Spider-Man, the Punisher, Iron Fist and many more.
Also appearing in the film will Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/The Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
The sequel is aiming for an April 4, 2014 release.
GSP has appeared previously in “Death Warrior,” “Hell’s Chain,” and “Never Surrender.”
