Jeremy Jackson on trial for rape

A former contestant on the reality television show “The Ultimate Fighter” was accused at his rape trial of holding a gun to his ex-girlfriend’s head and threatening to kill her, her two children and himself if she didn’t have sex with him.

Jeremy Jackson, 28, is charged in Ventura County Superior Court three counts of rape with two special allegations of entering a residence to sexually assault the victim, according to prosecutor Thomas Dunlevy. Jackson also is charged with one felony count of criminal threat and one felony count of witness intimidation, Dunlevy said.

On Friday, his ex-girlfriend tearfully testified that her relationship with Jackson included physical and sexual abuse, death threats to her and her family, and intimidation.

She described the June 2008 ordeal, saying Jackson held a gun to her head, which was later determined to be a BB gun, and forced her to text message another man to ask him to have phone sex with her, the Ventura County Star reported.

“If I didn’t do what he told me, my kids and I were going to die,” the woman said.

She will be cross-examined by the defense Monday.

Jackson, who is in custody under $1 million bail, has pleaded not guilty. During opening statements Friday, his lawyer, Russell Baker, told jurors that the ex-girlfriend consented to having sex and that Jackson did not rape her.

Jackson appeared on season four of Spike TV’s “The Ultimate Fighter” in 2006. He was booted off the mixed martial arts series after leaving the house without permission to meet a female lifeguard.
