Luigi Fioravanti signs with MFC
The Maximum Fighting Championship is continuing to pad its already deepening talent pool as insiders note the organization is close to completing two new contract signings.
The biggest name of incoming pair is veteran Luigi Fioravanti who would instantly create some waves in the well-stocked welterweight division. A well-accomplished striker who holds eight knockout wins amongst his 15 career victories, Fioravanti could very well be in line to face John Alessio at MFC 22: Payoff on Oct. 2. The winner of that bout – should it come to fruition – would likely be first in line to get a shot at 170-pound champion Pat Healy, who is closing in on a due date for his second title defense.
Fioravanti, who fights out of the Orlando-based American Top Team, is a former U.S. Marine who was part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. As his career in MMA progressed, he fought a line of top-calibre opponents and mustered up wins over reality shows competitors Luke Cummo and Solomon Hutcherson, along with a first-round TKO of longtime stalwart Dave Menne.
