MMA students break world record, for hugging
No, it is not Couture and Vera.
Two martial arts sportsmen have cuddled their way into the record books. Magid Mah, 22, and Michael Doffey, 20, smashed the record of 24 hours and 33 minutes to raise money for charity. They had to remain in a two- handed hold at all times, unable to eat, drink, sit, or separate for one moment.
The pair, members of Hull University’s Mixed Martial Arts club, and are now waiting for official confirmation from the Guinness Book Of Records. Magid said: “We wanted to do something different to raise money so we could buy some equipment for our martial arts club, and we also wanted to raise money for charity.”
The pair easily beat the previous record for hugging, which was set in Canada for a cuddle lasting 24 hours and 33 minutes.
