Hearing some rumors of Matt Brown being injured and the fight against Carlos Condit being scratched. Anyone can confirm this?

Multiple sources confirmed that Brown suffered an injury in training, and will not be able to fight. The decision was reportedly made on Saturday morning.

Brown tweeted the bad news.

Matthew Brown @IamTheImmortal
Thanks for the support guys. I regret to inform all that I am out of the fight with Condit. I herniated 2 discs in my lower back this week.

The hardcore fanbase was wildly enthusiastic about the prospect of the seeing “The Immortal” on a six-fight win streak vs. former  interim champion Carlos Condit.

“I was greatly disappointed to hear of Matt Brown’s injury,” said Condit. “This was a fight that I was looking forward to immensely, and I know it was a fight the fans have been excited to see. When the fight does happen, I promise that the wait will be worth it.”

“Right now, I’m going to spend time with my family over the holidays and hope that Matt heals up quickly so that we can reschedule this fight soon. Thanks to all of the fans out there for their support.”
