Megumi Fuji wins what is likely her final fight

The 38-year-old MMA veteran Megumi Fujii defeated Mei Yamaguchi via unanimous decision today at Vale Tudo Japan 2012 in Tokyo.

Prior to the fight, which marked her 26th career win, Fujii announced she’s likely to retire from the sport at year’s end.

In her native Japan, Fujii has posted a 19-0 record for organizations such as Shooto, BodogFIGHT, Smackgirl and Jewels. She began her career 22-0 before a questionable decision losses to Zoila Gurgel in a Season 3 tournament two years ago.
