Ortiz: Working for Dana White like slavery

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

Tito Ortiz had a storied history with the UFC, his former employee. Ortiz began his career in the UFC in 1997 and was one of the most well-known prolific fighters as the organization rose in popularity. However he had a very tumultuous and public relationship with the UFC and ‘retired’ last year and then signed a new contract with Bellator. Ortiz and ‘Rampage’ Jackson both spoke to Sports Illustrated today about working with their former boss, UFC President Dana White:

Tito Ortiz: “Umm, I know I thought slavery was over a long time ago.” He also said, “It’s just one of those things that you can’t trust a word that a man says, and when you can’t do that, how can you work for him?”

Rampage Jackson: “He’s the type of the guy that will force you into a fight after a surgery and if you don’t perform really well in the fight or you lose, he will talk crap about you in the media. Who wants to fight for a person like that?”
