Paul Daley wants back in the UFC
Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley lost a unanimous decision to Josh Koscheck at UFC 113 on May 8, 2010. Immediately after the final bell rang, in a fit of frustration at Kos for using his wrestling to smother Daley’s striking, Semtex sucker punched Koscheck.
Then the fight was awarded to Kos.
Then UFC President Dana White fired Daley from the UFC, and vowed he would never be back.
Now Daley is scheduled to take on former UFC fighter Luigi Fioravanti in the main event of Ringside 12 at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Oct 21, and the British slugger is hoping to make amends for the mistakes he made the last time he was there.
“I’m looking forward to returning to Canada and re-writing the wrongs I made last time,” Daley said. “Luigi is a tough guy, but I’m so focused now and ready to perform. I will stop him. My goal now is to return to the UFC. I know I’m the best and I deserve to test myself against the rest who believe the same”
Daley’s manager is also behind him and the changes he needs to make to prove to Dana White and everybody else at the UFC, that he’s ready to come back.
“Paul looked great against Radev at BAMMA 7 and is back on winning ways. Now we have the chance to head back to the Bell Centre in Montreal and put right what he once did wrong,” said Daley’s manager Wad Alameddine. “Paul has always loved the Canadian fans. They love a fight and love a guy that throws down … Fioravanti poses some interesting problems, but as always we are going into this fight confident and looking for the KO, expect fireworks at Ringside 12.”
