Philippou out, Camozzi in vs. Jacare at UFC on FX 8 in Brazil

Friday, May 03, 2013

Costa Philippou suffered a cut suffered in training, and is out of his fight with former Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza at UFC on FX 8 on May 18, 2013 in Brazil.

In response, the UFC did some card juggling.

Injuries are bad for the sport, but have proven good for Middleweight contender Chris Camozzi thus far, who was not originally on the card at all, and is now in the co-main event.

Originally, C.B. Dollaway was expected to face Cezar “Mutante” Ferreira.

Then Dollaway was injured and Camozzi was brought in to replace him.

Then Ferreira was injured, and was replaced by Renzo Gracie black belt Rafael “Sapo” Natal.

Now Philippou is injured, and Camozzi is the co-main event vs. Jacare.

Natal will now fight UFC newcomer Joao Zeferino.

While Jacare is one of the best grapplers on Earth, Camozzi is coming of a four-fight win streak, and is preparing to shock and dissapoint the Brazilian crowd.

In the UFC on FX 8 headliner, Vitor Belfort fights the last and thus perpetual Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold .
